My obsession with granny squares continues.
After organizing my yarn, I noticed I had an enormous stash of 100% wool in a pretty muted color palette. There's really only 1 thing to do with that much yarn - afghan. I've done things with granny squares before and I absolutely love how quick and portable they are. Perfect for my on the go schedule, right?
I was looking through Leisure Arts' book 99 Granny Squares to Crochet and I found several blocks I want to try.
I started with #21, which is a flower looking thing with popcorn things in a square thing. Totes adorable. I made it all the way to row 6 and then this happened.
I'll be honest, I'm a decent crocheter. I can read charts and follow most patterns I come across, even if it usually takes me a few tries. Ahem. But yeah, I couldn't quite get my trs to line up with my dtrs and my dcs. Here's how it looks up to that point though.
Cute as a button, right? I think I'll just take a break from #21 and do some plain old granny squares for awhile. Maybe I can alternate them in an afghan? We'll see. In the meantime, you can check out Leisure Arts' granny square pinterest board for inspiration.
