Easy to use but takes some practice

I read over the written instructions that came with the knook but I am having much better luck by using the online video instructions to learn how to knook. Great product!
The knook is the BEST!

I absolutely love the knook! It's so much quicker and easier than knitting. I crochet a lot but like the look of knitting better so this knook is a life saver since knitting with two needles is such a pain. I've even created my own patterns and I'm really very pleased.

Recieved your product, found one of the needles is cracked, (H-8) Taped it with hope it will hold. Not sure how long the hooks will hold up, but love the way it looks when done.

Bamboo is organic and as such, prone to manufacturing flaws like splinters. Picking up stitches should not be hard to do; if you are having a hard time putting the Knook through your beginning chain, then you are not chaining loosely enough. The chain should not impede getting the Knook through and turned down. In fact, a lot of “traditional” knitters use crochet hooks to pick up stitches that are then transferred onto a needle. The cord clip is mentioned in the intro of the how-to book as a tool for preventing dropped stitches. You just clip to the end of the cord. After that, we just included it in the projects and “assumed” that it would be obvious that it would be needed when you have a large amount of stitches on the cord to prevent the stitches from slipping off the end.

I'm a long time crocheter and have recently added spinning and circular sock machines to my list of fiber arts. Knitting has been elusive, but I'm very excited to be using the knook. I'm modifying my holding techniques to mimic my crochet jest urges, and its going faster. I hope to have many enjoyable hours with my new tools.

The first hook I used had a splinter on the side of it and caught the yarn. I ended up using both fine grit sand paper and a small file to remedy the problem. The cord I used was so flimsy that I damaged it removing if from the rubber band packing, causing it to fray. After a few uses, I think I will have to repair the ends of the cords by melting them over an open flame, as the holes on the knook are of smaller diameter than the cord and it catches each time I have to insert it into the knook. I also found the task of picking up a stitch unnecessarily hard, since adding more of a point to the end of the hook would make this easier. No knitter would be expected to make that exact maneuver with a rounded tip knitting needle, so why not make the knook with a bit of a point? I also teach crochet and realize that these type problems with tools are very frustrating and may cause one to abort the entire endeavor. A newbie will assume it is something they have done and therefore are not fit for the task.

I plan to sharpen and file the ends of my set and look for a stronger cord, maybe some sort of plastic wire used on extended Tunisian hooks. Perhaps someone will listen and come up with a version of this idea before it gets completely dismissed over frustration.

And what on earth are these clips used for? No information given anywhere.

I love using the knook. So easy to learn. I could never learn to knit, but I knew how to crochet. This is an easy transition from crocheting. I am enjoying knooking all my Christmas gifts this year!!
