I first saw this layette pattern booklet in 1979 when I was pregnant with my oldest. I immediately bought it. I taught myself to read patterns with this. I made it for each of my sons, and made booties in Christmas collors, filled with goodies, to give aaway as gifts! Almost 3 years ago,I had everythhing I own stolen, from family Bibles to my sons' Scouting memorabilia, and the booties I made for them. This also included bins of yarn and all my patterns. I almost cried when I saw this pop up on my search! I will be buying a new booklet to return to my collection as my first. You have made my day!!!

I first made this afghan for my sister when she was expecting her son in 1979. She had had a miscarriage in 1976 and I gave her this afghan as a sign of faith as soon as I heard she was pregnant. I also made one for another sister a few years later. The afghan is very thick and soft. I resurrrected the pattern in 2010 to make it for my grandson. I had a hard time figuring out how to start the stitch, but once it clicked, it made sense. I've just completed another for my great niece. I like using Vanna White's Choice varigated yarn. My original leaflet is in sad shape. I'm very thankful that I can load this pattern on my computer.

I have had the original leaflet for years but it is in sad shape, I was afraid to lose it so now I have a copy of it on my computer. Love this set very much.

I love this pattern! It looks so delicate! I, also bought it as a leaflet a long time ago. It is NOT an easy pattern to follow, at least not until one figures it out! After I started my practice piece I remembered using the pattern many, many years ago and the time I had with it. I don't remember if I ever figured it out then but I think I've got it now! Thank you!

I originally bought this pattern as a leaflet, for 75c, that may tell you how long ago... I have used the afghan pattern to make afghans of all shapes and sizes, all loved by the receivers and well used.
It was the first "special stitch" I taught my sister after the basics and she also adopted it and made it her own, she even made an afghan for me! I have since lost my sister but the afghan she made as a place of pride and love in my home.
