“Noah’s Ark is a popular theme these days, and I just had to try my hand at it!” says First Prize winner Leigh K. Nestor. A crocheter since the age of 16, Leigh has had six of her designs published previously and has “plenty more stashed in my cedar chest.” She thoroughly enjoys her job at a local discount store yet admits there’s one drawback. “Now, 1 have more money to buy yarn but less time to crochet!” Leigh lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Joe, and their 7-year-old son, Brian.

I am currently working on the Noah's Ark Afghan and love it. The pattern is easy to follow. It has a range of stitches and pieces that give it texture. The colours are good, although I have changed them a bit. Done in pieces, it doesn't get too big or heavy to complete.
I look forward to using more of Leigh's designs.
